2018’s Apple Shopping Event

In November 2018, a false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Apple regarding the marketing for a holiday sales event that ran from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. The complaint claims that the company advertised that customers who purchased specific products during the holiday promotion would also get an Apple Store Gift Card when, according to plaintiffs, Apple made consumers believe they would get gift cards with the purchase of products that were not part of the promotion. Plaintiffs also claim that the terms and conditions of the holiday promotion were not adequately disclosed. (Lee et al v. Apple Inc., Case No. 18-cv-7235, N. D. CA.)
