Ann Taylor Factory Stores Discounts

April 2016: This action was voluntarily dismissed without prejudice. The reasons for the dismissal have not been disclosed.

February 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Ascena Retail Group, Inc. and Ann Inc. for allegedly falsely advertising discounts at its retail outlet stores (including Ann Taylor Factory stores) by comparing sale prices to false market prices. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the market prices were artificially inflated and were never the original prices for the items. In addition, the market prices were not the prevailing market prices within the three months immediately before the advertisement, as required by California law. (Morrow et al v. Ascena Retail Group, Inc., Ann Inc., and Does 1-50, Case No. 16-cv-344, S. D. CA.)
