AT&T’s Bait-and-Switch Marketing
In June 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against AT&T for allegedly deceptively using a bait-and-switch advertising scheme in which it advertises flat monthly rates for wireless service plans when, according to plaintiffs, the company fails to disclose certain fees and the amount customers pay each month is actually higher than advertised. (Vianu et al v. AT&T Mobility LLC, Case No. 19-cv-3602, N. D. CA.)
