September 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Benihana, Inc. – a company that owns restaurants, including Benihana Teppanyaki, Haru, and RA Sushi, that offer Japanese cuisine – for allegedly falsely representing that menu items contain crab when, according to the plaintiffs, the food items do not contain crab meat and are made with imitation crab instead.
