In October 2020, a class-action lawsuit
was filed against The Folger Coffee Company for allegedly misrepresenting that canisters of Folgers ground coffee – including Classic Roast, Classic Roast Decaf, ½ Caff, CoffeeHouse Blend, and others – will make up to a specific number of cups of coffee when, according to plaintiffs, the products do not contain enough ground coffee to make the number of cups advertised on the label. For example, plaintiffs claim the 865 gram canisters of Folgers Classic Roast and Folgers Classic Decaf “make up to 240” cups of coffee when, according to plaintiffs, these canisters make approximately 170-181 cups of coffee. , Case No. 20-cv-9370, C.D. Cal.)
