In February 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against the food delivery service DoorDash for allegedly misleadingly marketing that 100% of the tip that a customer adds to the base price of a delivery goes to the driver when, according to the complaint, the company actually keeps a “substantial portion” of the tip for a profit and the driver does not get the full amount. (Webb et al v. DoorDash, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-665, N. D. GA.)
