Commando Lock Company

After the FTC recently found that unqualified Made in the USA claims made by the Commando Lock Company were likely to deceive consumers because the products contain essential parts made overseas (like the keys), the company, among other things, agreed to update U.S.-origin claims on its website and social media pages with the qualifying statement, “with US and global components.”
Thus, the extended hashtag in this edited post on the company’s Facebook page:
While not as catchy as #madeinusa, the new hashtag is at least now in line with FTC guidelines that state that “all or virtually all” of a product has to be made in the USA for it to be marketed with an unqualified “Made in the USA” claim.
