Compostable Plates and Bowls at The Kroger Co.

In June 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against The Kroger Co. for allegedly falsely marketing disposable plates and bowls as compostable when, according to plaintiffs, substances used in the products do not break down and contaminate the environment. (Ambrose et al v. The Kroger Co., Case No. 20-cv-4009, N.D. Cal.)
