February 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Sherwin-Williams for allegedly misleadingly marketing Duckback and SuperDeck products – including Duckback Deck & Dock Elastomeric Coating, Duckback Deck and Dock Solid Coating, and SuperDeck Deck and Dock Coating – as being able to resurface, seal, and waterproof surfaces, “lock[] down wood splinters,” fill cracks, and provide long-lasting protection against moisture and the effects of the sun when, according to plaintiffs, the products peel, crack, bubble, and expose the underlying surfaces to environmental conditions.
