March 2021: Plaintiffs moved for preliminary approval of a settlement agreement.

November 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Mowi USA and Mowi Ducktrap for allegedly falsely advertising Ducktrap River of Maine smoked Atlantic salmon products as:

  • Sustainably sourced when, according to the complaint, the salmon comes from industrial farms that do not use sustainable and environmentally friendly practices,
  • Natural when, according to plaintiffs, the salmon has been treated with artificial chemicals, such as antibiotics and pesticides, and
  • From Maine when, according to the complaint, the salmon comes from outside of the United States.
