Fiat Chrysler EcoDiesel Trucks

September 2019: This case was transferred to the multidistrict litigation in California to be heard with other similar cases. (MDL No. 2777) To learn more about the MDL case, click here.

August 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Fiat Chrysler for allegedly deceptively marketing that 2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 EcoDiesel trucks are green and produce less emissions than regular diesel vehicles when, according to plaintiffs, the company does not disclose that the vehicles are programmed to reduce emissions during testing but the trucks emit more nitrogen oxide (NOx) than permitted by law during normal driving. Plaintiffs also claim that the trucks do not achieve the advertised fuel economy and performance when they are emitting less pollution. Later in August, the case was transferred from state court to federal court. (Cooke et al v. FCA US LLC, et al, Case No. 19-cv-6081, E. D. Mich.)
