Folgers Coffee
In January 2021, a class-action lawsuit was filed against The J. M. Smucker Company and The Folger Coffee Company alleging that canisters of Folgers ground coffee do not contain enough product to make the number of servings advertised on the label when following the company’s instructions. For example, plaintiffs claim that the product label represents that the 30.5 ounce canister of Folgers Classic Roast represents that the products “makes up to 240” cups of coffee when, according to the complaint, the product cannot make more than 203 cups. (Thompson et al v. The J.M. Smucker Company and The Folger Coffee Company, Case No. 21-cv-9, E.D. Tex.)
