Gillette Canadian Commercial
In Canada, Gillette airs a nearly identical commercial to the deceptive 30-second commercial it airs in the U.S. but, in the Canadian version, all U.S. references have been removed (except for a one-second written statement that indicates in fine print that the factory shown in the commercial is in Boston).
During the course of communications with Gillette’s senior counsel, TINA.org suggested — as a possible simple solution to the deceptive marketing at issue — replacing the deceptive U.S. version of the commercial with the Canadian version so that the Made in USA references are removed, but Gillette has not done so.
