Goof Proof Warranty from Bob’s Discount Furniture

In December 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Bob’s Discount Furniture for allegedly misleadingly representing that the Goof Proof warranty protects against furniture damaged by stains, markings, rips, tears, cuts, and punctures when, according to the complaint, the retailer denies claims submitted for these covered reasons. Plaintiffs also claim that Bob’s Discount Furniture fails to disclose that the retailer receives incentives or kickbacks from Guardian Insurance for every warranty it sells. (Glover et al v. Bob’s Discount Furniture, LLC, Case No. 20-cv-10924, S.D.N.Y.)
