Great Value Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

In November 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Walmart for allegedly falsely advertising that its Great Value Vanilla Bean Ice Cream is flavored with vanilla when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredient list shows that the ice cream contains unspecified “natural flavors” in addition to vanilla extract and vanilla bean specs. Plaintiffs also claim that the company misleadingly includes vanilla bean specs in the ingredient list without disclosing that the specs do not add any flavor to the ice cream. (Legrier et al v. Walmart Inc., Case No. 19-cv-10433, S. D. NY.)
