Green Tea Hawaii

Green Tea Hawaii advertises its Raspberry Ketones supplement with claims that it can increase your body’s ability to burn fat exponentially and includes “detoxifying agents” to scrub out your body. It also promises appetite reduction, a healthier heart, younger-looking skin, increased energy, and a better-regulated mood.

These claims make us wary. The National Advertising Division investigated Green Tea Hawaii’s claims after the Council for Responsible Nutrition decided they were wary. NAD asked for evidence. Green Tea Hawaii ignored NAD’s inquiry. NAD referred the matter to the FTC.

Once again, stay away from supplements making crazy claims.

The National Advertising Division, or NAD, is an investigative unit of the advertising industry’s system of self-regulation. It is administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. NAD asks advertisers to substantiate or change their claims in advertisements. As part of a voluntary system of self-regulation, however, its recommendations can be ignored by the offending advertisers. In those instances, NAD refers the offender to federal consumer protection agencies.
