December 2020: This case was voluntarily dismissed When a complaint is dismissed with prejudice, it cannot be refiled. because the named plaintiff reached a settlement agreement, the terms of which have not been disclosed.

September 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against The Cookware Company for allegedly misleadingly advertising that its GreenPan cookware is:

  • “COMPLETELY TOXIN FREE!” and “HEALTHY CERAMIC NON-STICK” when, according to plaintiffs, the Thermolon™ coating on the pans contains several toxins and the pans do not make the food prepared in them healthier than when it is prepared in other pans.
  • Is superior to other pans because the GreenPan cookware does not contain certain chemicals when, according to plaintiffs, the referenced chemicals are not used in other cookware either as they have been phased out of cookware sold in the United States;
  • Is “good for the environment” when, according to plaintiffs, it negatively impacts the environment; and
  • Is reinforced with diamonds when, according to plaintiffs, it is not.
