Internet Crime Complaint Center
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), which began operating in 2000, is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), funded in part by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Its self-proclaimed mission is to “serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime.” In plain English, it simply means that if you’re a victim of an Internet-related crime, you can file an online complaint with IC3 and it will pass your complaint on to the proper authorities.
