In September 2020, a class-action lawsuit
was filed against Jovia Financial Credit Union for allegedly misleadingly representing that it charges only one insufficient funds or overdraft fee on a transaction if an account does not have enough funds to cover the transaction when, according to plaintiffs, the credit union routinely charges multiple fees on a single transaction.
