In August 2018, a class-action lawsuit
was filed against JUUL Labs and PAX Labs for allegedly deceptively marketing JUUL e-cigarettes and pods as a safer alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes when, according to the complaint, they are at least as, if not more, addictive than traditional cigarettes and pose serious health risks. The complaint also claims that the companies misleadingly represent that the amount of nicotine in the products is about equal to a pack of cigarettes when, according to the complaint, the products deliver more nicotine than cigarettes. , Case No. 18-cv-3760, E. D. PA.)
