December 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. for allegedly misleading representing on the front labels of its apple pies that they are “Made with Real Fruit Filling and Other Natural Flavors” when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list on the back panel shows that the products also contain artificial flavors. (Plaintiffs filed an amended complaint in September 2020.) (Williams et al v. Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp., Case No. 19-cv-11878, S.D.N.Y.)
