Settlement comes after TINA.org exposed thousands of deceptive income claims.

June 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Perfetti Van Melle USA Inc. for allegedly deceptively using You know when you buy a big bag of chips, and you’re all psyched for a feast, and then it turns out there are like, three chips in the bag? That bag is slack filled.ed packaging for Mentos® Sugar-Free Chewing Gum to make consumers believe that they are buying more gum than they actually are. According to the complaint, the container can hold 70 pieces of gum while it only contains only 50 pieces of gum. (Hu et al v. Perfetti Van Melle USA Inc., Case No. 15-cv-3742, E. D. NY.)
