April 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against JPMorgan Chase Bank for allegedly misrepresenting that there is no prepayment penalty for consumers who pay off their mortgage early when, according to plaintiffs, consumers who pay off their mortgage early are charged an almost $400 fee. (Kristel-Papp et al v. JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Case No. 655788/2018, Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York)
