Orgain Organic Plant-Based Protein Powder

In January 2021, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Orgain Management for allegedly misleadingly marketing that the characterizing flavoring ingredient in Orgain Vanilla Bean Organic Protein Plant Based Protein Powder comes from vanilla beans when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list does not include a vanilla ingredient and shows that the product contains unspecified “natural flavors.” Plaintiffs also allege that, even though the company claims to be committed to “clean nutrition” on the product label, the powder contains several ingredients that consumers do not consider clean, including ones that are artificial, high processed, and cause negative health effects. (Newton et al v. Orgain Management, Inc., Case No. 21-cv-62, E.D.N.Y.)
