Overdraft Fees at New Peoples Bank

In December 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against New Peoples Bank for allegedly representing that it charges only one overdraft fee on transactions that overdraw an account when, according to the complaint, the bank actually routinely charges multiple fees on a single transaction because it charges another fee every time a transaction is reprocessed for payment. (Horn et al v. New Peoples Bank, Case No. 20-cv-68, W.D. Va.)
