Packaging of Hot Tamales and Mike and Ike Candy

November 2018: This case was dismissed with prejudice because the parties reached a settlement agreement, the terms of which have not been disclosed.

February 2017: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Just Born for allegedly deceptively using slack-filled packaging for Hot Tamales and Mike and Ike candy. According to the complaint, boxes of Hot Tamales candy have 35% empty space and boxes of Mike and Ike candy have 34% empty space. (White et al v. Just Born, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-4025, W. D. MO.)
