The company advertises “With Over 500 Hundred ingredients specific Research and Clinical Studies, PhytoZon was scientifically formulated to Enhance, Promote and Support” everything from mental clarity to heart health. Testimonials claim that the supplement helped manage illnesses ranging from breast cancer to chronic kidney disease.

But the Council for Responsible Nutrition took issue with certain claims and referred the company to The National Advertising Division (NAD) is the advertising industry’s self-regulatory body administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus., which noted that it was concerned that “by couching the claims as establishment claims by referencing ‘research’ and ‘clinical’ studies’ can convey to consumers the message that the claimed benefits have been proven by rigorous and reliable scientific study.”

When the company declined to participate in NAD’s inquiry into its challenged advertising claims, NAD referred it to the FTC and FDA for investigation.
