May 2018: After the Panitch case was stayed pending the outcome in Gibson, a federal judge granted the company’s motion for judgment in Panitch and entered a judgment in favor of the company concluding that the claims failed for the reasons explained in Gibson. The Kinn case remains pending.

December 2017: The appeal in the Gibson case was voluntarily dismissed When a complaint is dismissed with prejudice, it cannot be refiled., the reasons for which have not been disclosed.

September 2017: Plaintiffs in the Gibson case filed a Notice of Appeal regarding the dismissal order.

August 2017: A federal judge in the Gibson case granted the company’s motion to dismiss concluding that plaintiffs did not have standing for claims regarding products they did not purchase and federal law preempted the state law claims. The dismissal was When a complaint is dismissed with prejudice, it cannot be refiled.. (Gibson v. The Quaker Oats Co., Case No. 16-cv-4853, N.D. Ill.).

April 2017: The Panitch case was transferred to a court in Illinois. The same court order closed the case. (Panitch v. The Quaker Oats Co., Case No. 17-cv-3460, N.D. Ill.)

November 2016: The Kinn case was transferred to a court in Illinois. (Kinn v. The Quaker Oats Co., Case No. 16cv10833, N.D. Ill.)

September 2016: The Wheeler case was voluntarily dismissed When a complaint is dismissed without prejudice, an amended version of the complaint can be refiled., the reasons for which have not been disclosed.

August 2016: A Consolidated Amended Class Action Complaint was filed in the Gibson case. (Case No. 16-cv-4853, N.D. Ill.)

July 2016: Three of the cases listed below (specifically, Cooper, Daly, and Jaffee) were consolidated with another similar lawsuit, Gibson v. The Quaker Oats Company (Case No. 16-cv-4853, N.D. Ill.).

2016: Multiple class-action lawsuits were filed against The Quaker Oats Company for allegedly falsely marketing oatmeal products – including Quaker Oats Old-Fashioned and Quaker Oats Quick 1-Minute – as, among other things, “100% Natural” when, according to plaintiffs, they actually contain an unnatural ingredient, glyphosate.
