In October 2018, a class-action lawsuit
was filed against The Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. for allegedly misleadingly advertising Scotts Turf Builder EZ Seed. The complaint claims that the company misrepresents that the product causes grass to grow “50% THICKER WITH HALF THE WATER” and “Grows Anywhere! Guaranteed!” when, according to plaintiffs, the product actually prevents grass from growing and requires more water than advertised. (Kasich et al v. The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, Inc. and The Scotts Company LLC
, Case No. 18-cv-1373, W. D. PA.)
