October 2016: This case was dismissed with prejudice after the parties reported that they resolved the matter. More information about the reasons for the dismissal have not been disclosed.

August 2016: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Shinola for allegedly falsely marketing its watches as made in Detroit and made in America without adequately disclosing that the quartz movement components (the timekeeping parts) are made in Switzerland and Thailand. (Huber et al v. Shinola/Detroit, LLC and Bedrock Manufacturing Company, LLC, Case No. 16-cv6465, S. D. NY.)
