Starkist Tuna’s Dolphin Safe Representations

In May 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Starkist for allegedly misleadingly labeling its tuna products as being “Dolphin Safe” when, according to plaintiffs, dolphins and other marine life are killed and injured by the fishing methods used to catch the tuna used in products. (Gardner v Starkist Co., Case No. 19-cv-2561, N. D. CA.)
