Stauffer’s Lemon Snaps

In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against D F Stauffer Biscuit Co. for allegedly misleadingly marketing that the characterizing flavor in its Lemon Snaps cookies comes from lemons when, according to plaintiffs, the ingredients list does not include a lemon ingredient and reveals that the cookies are flavored with “Natural and Artificial Flavor.” Plaintiffs also claim that the cookies contain yellow food coloring to make the color of the cookies look more like the flavor comes from real lemons. (Cruz et al v. D F Stauffer Biscuit Co. Inc., Case No. 20-cv-2402, S.D.N.Y.)
