Thales e-Security

Marketer breaches FTC's standard on making Made in the USA claims.

If Thales e-Security wasn’t fully aware of the FTC’s Made in the USA standard, it is now.

After telling the agency in response to an inquiry that it inadvertently labeled certain data security products “Made in USA” when they actually incorporate significant imported parts, the company, among other compliance measures, changed the labeling on all new products to the more accurate “Assembled in the USA.”

For the security of consumers who prefer and are even willing to pay more for products marketed as Made in the USA, the FTC has a long-standing rule that requires such products be “all or virtually all” made here. Breach this standard and marketers can expect to hear from the agency.
