July 2019: A state court judge preliminarily approved a settlement agreement that would resolve this lawsuit. According to the settlement terms, class members who either do not have proof of purchase or submit proof of less than $90 in purchases will receive one $6 certificate to use toward a future purchase. Class members who submit proof of purchase for $90 or more in purchases will receive two $6 certificates to use toward future purchases. A final fairness hearing is scheduled for October 11, 2019. 2016: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against The Gap and Banana Republic. The complaint (which was later amended in 2018) alleges that the retailers falsely advertise percentage discounts off of fake former prices. (Andrews et al v.
