In June 2018, several class-action lawsuits alleging that the multilevel marketing company Monat Global Corp. deceptively markets its hair care products were transferred
to one court to be heard with similar cases. The complaints, which were filed earlier in the year, allege that the company misleadingly markets that its hair care products will provide various benefits – including hair growth, stability, and strength – when, according to the complaints, the products do not provide the advertised benefits and actually cause hair loss. Some of the complaints also allege that the company functions as a pyramid scheme and falsely represents that the products do not contain ingredients that are actually in them.
