The Safety of Volkswagen Vehicles

A class-action lawsuit was filed against Volkswagen for allegedly misrepresenting the safety of its 2016 and 2017 models, including the Jetta, the Passat, and several Golf models. According to the plaintiffs, two of the safety systems (Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking) in the vehicles do not work properly in speeds over 18 miles per hour. The complaint was originally filed in state court in April 2018 and transferred to federal court in June 2018. (D’Amore et al v. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. et al, Case No. 18-cv-5682, C. D. CA.)
