A false advertising class-action lawsuit
was filed against Iovate Health Sciences in September 2016. The complaint alleges, among other things, that the company markets a line of weight-loss supplements – including Garcinia Cambogia Plus, Garcinia Cambogia Plus Gummies, Coconut Oil, Green Coffee Bean, Matcha Green Tea Plus, Probiotics Plus Weight Loss, Raspberry Ketones Plus, Konjac Root Plus, Xenadrine Core, and Xenadrine Ultimate – as scientifically shown to promote weight loss when it does not have adequate scientific support to properly substantiate those claims. The complaint also alleges that the company’s marketing violates a previous FTC Consent Order against it. The lawsuit was transferred from state court to federal court in October 2016.
