Visionworks BOGO Offers

In February 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Visionworks for allegedly deceptively advertising “Buy One, Get One Free” offers for eyeglasses. Specifically, the complaint alleges that Visionworks deceptively advertises that customers who buy one pair of eyeglasses get a second pair for free when, according to plaintiffs, the retailer increases the price of the first pair of glasses by approximately 40% so that the second pair of glasses is not really free. Plaintiffs also claim that the retailer deceptively uses the word “free” in offers for more than six months during a twelve month period, in violation of federal regulations. (Mora et al v. Visionworks of America, Inc., Case No. 18-cv-335, M. D. FL.)
