March 19, 2015: The Final Fairness Hearing is held in federal court. The judge hears oral argument from both parties, as well as from TINA.org, but reserves judgment on whether or not she will approve the proposed settlement agreement.
March 4, 2015: Plaintiffs file a response to TINA.org’s opposition to the proposed settlement.
February 18, 2015: The Court grants TINA.org’s Motion for Leave to file its opposition to the proposed settlement.
(Latin for “friend of the courts.”) A person or organization that is not a party to a lawsuit but has a significant interest in the case and offers information that may be important to the court’s determination.
