Winter Tonic Plus

Winter is coming. No, for real — it’s only a couple months away. Which means you’ll want to get your hands on some Winter Tonic Plus, a homeopathic remedy marketed to treat anything the season throws at you, perhaps even the occasional White Walker.

“If you become ill, Winter Tonic Plus, along with Winter Balance II should be taken 4 times a day until better,” the maker and marketer of the remedy, Celletech, prescribes on the product page.

But is Winter Tonic Plus the seasonal elixir it purports to be? A recent FDA warning letter to Celletech cites numerous Only FDA-approved drugs can be marketed as having the ability to diagnose, cure, treat, prevent or mitigate a disease. appearing on product labeling and on celletech.com. Others, in addition to the aforementioned, include:

  • “This new Winter Tonic Plus includes KrebsCycle Acids that helps feed and stimulate the cells of the body to help deal with new ‘winter illnesses’ more efficiently.”
  • “Winter Tonic Plus is more than one seasons flu vaccine, it is 94 years of different types of ‘Winter Illnesses’, (1918 through 2017/18) along with the European Winter Illness types called La grippe.”

In its letter the FDA also refers to a pair of problematic claims for Easy Breath, which Celletech says helps “open breathing passages when they get constricted.”
