April 2020: A federal judge granted final approval of the settlement agreement.

August 2019: Plaintiffs moved for preliminary approval of a proposed settlement agreement. According to its terms, class members may receive a cash refund in an amount that depends on the number of products they purchased and the total amount of valid claims. In addition, the company agreed to have products with ingredients that it describes as “natural” tested every six months to confirm that the ingredients in the products are natural.

January 2018: Plaintiffs filed an amended complaint bringing similar allegations.

August 2017: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Younique, LLC for allegedly using a multilevel marketing campaign to market products to health-conscious consumers by falsely marketing Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes as “natural” and containing “100% Natural Green Tea Fibers” when, according to plaintiffs, the product contains unnatural ingredients (such as ground-up nylon) and does not contain any green tea leaves at all. (Schmitt et al v. Younique, LLC and Coty, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-1397, C.D. Cal.)
